The International Marketplace Coalition celebrated the grand opening of the Global Village Welcome Center (4233 Lafayette Road) with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday, Oct 1. The Coalition was joined by city officials, including Indianapolis Mayor Joe Hogsett, dignitaries and members of the community. The 56,000-square foot space features cultural galleries representing all inhabited continents, an event hall and classroom space. Once completed, the building will also feature a demonstration kitchen, dance studios, functional space and other dedicated areas.
Guests were invited to tour the space, sample global cuisine from restaurants, watch performances from numerous cultural groups and shop at the new Global Gifts.
Years in the making, the Global Village Welcome Center invites everyone to explore, connect and celebrate.
