Homey Hot Pot & Sushi, the latest restaurant to join the International Marketplace, recently opened at 3649 Lafayette Rd. This new addition to the area offers a full menu including an all-you-can-eat buffet, hibachi grill, sushi and—of course—dishes that are cooked using a hot pot.
The interactive dining practice of hot pot cooking is an ancient Chinese tradition. A guest chooses from a variety of proteins, vegetables and noodles that he or she then puts into a simmering bowl of broth, which sits on a burner before the guest at a table. The broth contains a variety of East Asian ingredients and spices to which guests add foods throughout the meal. Once the food is submerged in the broth, it cooks quickly, but the process allows time for guests to enjoy the buffet, sushi bar or hibachi grill.
While the unique technique of hot pot eating is the restaurant’s main attraction, Homey Hot Pot’s menu is extensive. In addition to a variety of sushi rolls, the restaurant’s buffet also offers meat and seafood dishes, rice, dumplings, meatballs, pizza, vegetable dishes, many varieties of noodles and numerous types of soup. Additionally, items can be selected to be prepared on the Hibachi grill.
Whether it be seafood, sushi, noodles or meat, Homey Hot Pot’s diverse menu is appropriate for every taste. Beer and wine are available. With five private rooms equipped for karaoke, the restaurant perfectly accommodates private groups.
Homey Hot Pot is open seven days a week and everyday deals include the hot pot experience plus an all-you-can-eat buffet with sushi and hibachi grill for $22.99. Monday-Saturday enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet with sushi and hibachi grill for $7.99 at lunch and the same meal for $10.99 at dinner Monday-Thursday. The dinner deal is $11.99 Friday-Saturday and all day Sunday. A full menu is provided for diners who prefer to choose from selections such as sushi, for which there are many special deals. Children ages three through ten receive lunch for $4.95 or dinner for $5.95.
The International Marketplace Discount Card is also accepted, which qualifies guests for 10 percent off food purchases.
